SERIES RECAP

VooDoo Child completed a clinical 3-0 sweep of The Strawberrys, though the final scorelines of 5-3, 4-3, and 6-4 suggest a much tighter battle than the series result indicates. The narrative of the series was established early in Game 1, where VooDoo Child proved they didn't need high volume to win, scoring 5 goals on just 7 shots. The Strawberrys controlled the Time on Attack (TOA) and outshot VooDoo Child in every single game of the series, but they consistently failed to turn that possession into a lead, allowing VooDoo Child to hang around and eventually pull away in the 3rd periods. The offensive production for VooDoo Child was remarkably balanced, led by J Whipzz who put up 9 points (4G, 5A) while adding a massive physical presence with 25 hits across the 3 games. Dupont l9l was the early catalyst, netting 6 goals in the series, including a 4-goal masterpiece in the opener. On the other side, splxshin. did everything possible to keep The Strawberrys competitive, matching J Whipzz with 9 points of his own. Prodigyx8 was also a force in the middle, winning 49 faceoffs to ensure The Strawberrys dictated the flow of play, but his 6 points weren't enough to offset the defensive lapses. The ultimate deciding factor was the massive discrepancy in goaltending and finishing efficiency. Hylightt was the backbone for VooDoo Child, making 58 saves across the series and posting a solid .853 save percentage despite facing constant pressure. In contrast, EXHUMING SOULS struggled in the Strawberrys’ crease, finishing the series with a .595 save percentage. While The Strawberrys won the possession battle and shot count (68-37 overall), VooDoo Child’s ability to capitalize on nearly 40% of their total shots proved that quality of chance and reliable netminding are the ultimate equalizers in competitive play.
