RECAP

In a high-scoring overtime thriller, VooDoo Child walked away with a 6-4 victory over The Strawberrys in a game defined by clinical finishing versus possession dominance. Despite being under pressure for large stretches of the contest, VooDoo Child remained opportunistic, weathering a late-game surge from the home side to eventually find the winner in the extra frame. The Strawberrys controlled the narrative for much of the night, but they couldn't find the final defensive stop needed to secure the win. VooDoo Child’s offense was perfectly balanced, with their entire forward line firing on all cylinders. hugeexpl and J Whipzz were the primary catalysts, each recording 2 goals and 2 assists, while jnoquarterj anchored the middle with a 3-point performance. The Strawberrys saw a valiant effort from splxshin., who factored into every one of his team's goals with 1 goal and 3 assists, alongside FatalX87 who buried 2 goals of his own. However, the disparity in goaltending proved too much to overcome; while Hylightt made 17 saves for VooDoo, EXHUMING SOULS struggled at the other end, allowing 6 goals on just 16 shots for a .625 save percentage. The deciding factor in this matchup was pure efficiency over volume. The Strawberrys dominated nearly every statistical category, holding a massive advantage in time on attack (10:07 to 7:19) and winning the shot battle 21-16. Prodigyx8 was a force in the circle, winning 18 of 29 faceoffs (62%) to keep the puck in The Strawberrys' hands, but VooDoo Child refused to waste their chances. While The Strawberrys spent the night cycling and looking for the perfect opening, VooDoo Child’s counter-attack was lethal, proving that possession doesn't always translate to the scoreboard when the opponent is this efficient.
