VooDoo Child managed to escape with a narrow 4-3 victory over The Strawberrys in a game where the final score didn’t necessarily reflect the shot clock. The Strawberrys dictated much of the tempo, controlling the zone for 6:49 of time on attack and firing 25 shots on net, but they couldn't find the late equalizer needed to push the game further. The turning point came down to clinical finishing; while The Strawberrys dominated the puck possession and shot volume, VooDoo Child was lethal on their limited counter-attacks, converting 4 of their 14 shots to stay ahead in a game where they were often under heavy siege.
The individual spotlight belongs to Dupont l9l, who anchored the VooDoo Child offense with 2 goals and 1 assist, showing incredible efficiency despite recording only 2 shots on goal. He was supported by J Whipzz and jnoquarterj, who each tallied 2 points to round out the scoring. However, the game's true unsung hero was Hylightt in the VooDoo Child crease. Facing a relentless barrage, Hylightt made 22 saves on 25 shots for a .880 save percentage, including several high-danger stops in the closing minutes. On the other side, Prodigyx8 did everything possible to keep The Strawberrys in it, netting 2 goals and an assist while winning 16 of 29 faceoffs in a powerhouse performance.
The deciding factor in this contest was the massive disparity in shooting efficiency and goaltending.
