RECAP

Limitless put on a clinic in puck pursuit and zone control, skating away with a methodical 3-1 victory over Smoke HC. From the opening draw, Limitless dictated the tempo, forcing Smoke HC to spend the majority of the game defending in their own end. The turning point came through sheer persistence; while swizzwrld managed to find the net for Smoke HC on one of their rare looks, the relentless pressure from Limitless eventually cracked the shell. By the midpoint of the game, the shot disparity began to tell the story, as Smoke HC struggled to transition out of their zone against a suffocating forecheck. TrashDav was the offensive catalyst for Limitless, showcasing elite efficiency by turning his only 2 shots of the night into 2 critical goals, including a vital power play marker. On the wings, yrykerr remained a constant threat, peppering the net with 5 shots and netting a goal of his own to provide the insurance. While Smoke HC’s SargeNPrawns put up a valiant effort in the crease—stopping 17 of 20 shots to keep his team within striking distance—the lack of offensive support ultimately left him out to dry. Hylightt tried to spark a comeback with a physical performance, racking up 9 hits and an assist, but the Smoke HC attack couldn't generate enough volume to challenge Il Eroc lI. The deciding factor in this contest was the massive gap in puck possession and offensive zone time. Limitless nearly doubled Smoke HC in Time on Attack (601 to 326) and generated 4 times as many shots on goal (20 to 5). This territorial dominance allowed Limitless to stay patient and wait for high-danger opportunities rather than forcing plays. Smoke HC’s inability to maintain possession meant they were constantly tired from defending, and with their only goal coming on just 5 total shots, they simply didn't have the runway needed to mount a serious threat.
