RECAP

Smoke HC delivered a masterclass in opportunistic hockey, securing a 6-2 victory over Limitless despite chasing the play for much of the night. While Limitless held a massive advantage in zone control, Smoke HC relied on a lethal transition game and punishing physicality to turn the tide. The turning point came in the second period, where Smoke began converting high-danger looks with clinical precision, effectively neutralizing the long offensive cycles Limitless used to keep them pinned deep. The offensive explosion was fueled by Hylightt, who put up a massive 5-point performance (2 goals, 3 assists) while leading the forward group with 11 hits. His ability to create space through contact allowed Snow-l37l and swizzwrld to find soft spots in the coverage, with both players netting 2 goals apiece. Defensively, ChaudLapin99 acted as the primary outlet with 2 assists, while SargeNPrawns provided the necessary stability between the pipes. SargeNPrawns turned aside 15 of 17 shots for a .882 save percentage, frustrating the Limitless shooters who failed to capitalize on several rebounds. The final score belies the statistical story, as Limitless actually doubled Smoke HC’s time on attack (11:14 to 5:06). However, Smoke HC made their limited possession minutes count, shooting a remarkable 37.5% as a team (6 goals on 16 shots). Physicality was the ultimate equalizer; Smoke HC racked up 33 hits compared to just 13 from Limitless, effectively disrupting the away team's rhythm and preventing them from turning possession time into quality shots. Limitless found some life through yrykerr’s two goals, but without more support and a sharper performance from Il Eroc lI, they simply couldn't keep pace with Smoke’s efficiency.
