SERIES RECAP

The Strawberrys completed a 3-0 sweep over the Baboons in a series that was much more competitive than the final result suggests. The set opened with a measured 4-2 win for The Strawberrys, followed by a 5-3 victory in Game 2 where they began to flex their offensive muscles. The Baboons nearly extended the series in a desperate Game 3 push, trading blows until the final minutes of regulation, but they ultimately fell 5-4 in overtime. While the Baboons grew more dangerous as the series progressed, they simply couldn't find an answer for the high-octane pressure coming from the other side. The series belonged to mashotpa, who put on a clinical finishing display with 6 goals and 10 total points across the 3 games. More impressively, he secured all 3 game-winning goals for The Strawberrys, including the overtime winner that ended the series. He was perfectly supported by splxshin., who acted as the primary playmaker with 7 assists and 10 points of his own. On the Baboons' side, Hergy9 was a massive bright spot, facilitating the offense with 7 points and dominating the faceoff dot with 32 total wins to keep his team in the possession hunt. Prodigyx8 also made his presence felt for the winners, balancing 7 points with a heavy physical game, leading all players with 29 hits. The deciding factor in this sweep was the sustained offensive zone pressure applied by The Strawberrys. They held a significant advantage in time on attack throughout the series, totaling 1666 seconds compared to 1261 for the Baboons. This disparity forced the Baboons into a "bend but don't break" defensive style that eventually gave way to the Strawberrys’ cycle game. While the Baboons remained efficient on their limited looks—maintaining a respectable shooting percentage—they were consistently out-chanced and out-possessed. The Strawberrys' ability to maintain a high volume of pressure eventually cracked the Baboons' structure, allowing their top-end talent to seal the deal in the high-leverage moments of the third game.
