RECAP

Chaos managed to escape a back-and-forth thriller with a 5-4 overtime victory against the Mighty Deks. Despite the Mighty Deks controlling the tempo for long stretches with over 15 minutes of time on attack, Chaos proved more lethal on their entries, outshooting the Deks 21-13. The game was a constant tug-of-war that saw neither side able to build a comfortable lead, eventually forcing the extra frame where Chaos clinical finishing finally ended the contest. The offensive story of the night belonged to Daintydanglz, who put on a masterclass for Chaos by netting a hat trick and adding 2 assists for a 5-point performance. He was supported heavily by xDemon12x, who played the role of hero by scoring the overtime winner to cap off a 4-point night. On the other side, DaddyJoeFerg was the engine for the Mighty Deks, factoring into every single one of his team’s goals with 2 goals and 2 assists. The physical play was also at a premium, as GingertronXX for the Deks and sc2009crosby for Chaos each threw 13 and 14 hits respectively, making every inch of ice difficult to claim. The deciding factor in this one was Chaos’ ability to generate high-quality looks despite having less puck possession. While the Mighty Deks were methodical in their build-up, Chaos was opportunistic, capitalizing on a .238 shooting percentage. Both teams were disciplined enough to only allow a few power play opportunities, with each side converting 1 goal on the man advantage. Ultimately, the shot differential told the story; by putting 21 pucks on net compared to just 13 from the Deks, Chaos eventually found the breakthrough they needed to secure the win.
