RECAP

The Strawberrys escaped with a 4-3 overtime victory in a game that they controlled for nearly the entire 60 minutes. Despite the heavy possession tilt, the Harfangs proved incredibly resilient, turning the contest into a "quality over quantity" battle. The Harfangs were clinical with their limited chances, converting 3 goals on just 7 shots, which forced a lopsided affair into an extra frame. The tension finally broke in overtime when splxshin. finished off a dominant individual performance by burying the game-winner to secure the second point for the Strawberrys. The night belonged to splxshin., who factored into every goal for his side with 3 goals and 1 assist, including the hat trick and overtime heroics. He was supported by mashotpa, who was a constant threat on the wing with 1 goal and 2 assists on 7 shots. On the back end, SupremeBannock was a model of efficiency, recording 2 assists and 5 takeaways while completing 34 of 37 passes for a 91.89% success rate. For the Harfangs, the game remained competitive almost entirely due to Philliesgreat08 in net; he weathered a constant barrage to make 21 saves, keeping his team alive while they were outshot by a massive 25-7 margin. The statistical story of this game was defined by puck possession and discipline. The Strawberrys held a staggering 15:04 to 5:46 advantage in time on attack, effectively keeping the Harfangs pinned in their own zone for two-thirds of the game. This territorial dominance was bolstered by a lack of mistakes, as The Strawberrys played a perfectly clean game with 0 penalty minutes compared to 10 for the Harfangs. While Jeeves2009 (1 goal, 2 assists) and the Harfangs' offense were lethal when they actually had the puck, they simply couldn't overcome the sheer volume of pressure and the lopsided shot differential.
