RECAP

The Strawberrys secured a 5-3 victory over the Harfangs in a game that was much more lopsided than the final score suggests. From the opening draw, the Strawberrys dictated the pace, spending a massive 735 seconds in the offensive zone compared to just 387 for the Harfangs. While the Harfangs managed to hang around, the relentless pressure from the Strawberrys' top line eventually wore them down. The turning point was the sheer volume of rubber; with 26 shots to the Harfangs’ 13, the Strawberrys simply never allowed their opponents to find a consistent rhythm or build any counter-attacking momentum. splxshin. was the primary engine for the Strawberrys, orchestrating the offense with 1 goal and 3 assists while maintaining possession for a staggering 449 seconds. He was flanked by mashotpa, who provided the finishing touch with 2 goals and 1 assist, including the eventual game-winner. On the other side, xbrindy tried to single-handedly drag the Harfangs back into the contest, netting 2 goals and 1 assist while throwing a massive 14 hits. Despite xbrindy’s physical dominance, his 21 turnovers proved costly against a Strawberrys transition game that was clinical in capitalizing on mistakes. The game was ultimately decided in the faceoff circle and by a significant disparity in discipline. Prodigyx8 dominated the dots for the Strawberrys, winning 16 of 24 faceoffs (66.7%), which essentially guaranteed his team immediate possession on almost every whistle. This control, combined with the Harfangs' struggle to stay out of the box (10 penalty minutes), forced the Harfangs into a defensive shell for most of the night. Even though the Strawberrys went 0 for 5 on the power play, the man-advantage time allowed them to exhaust the Harfangs' defenders and maintain a shot differential that proved impossible to overcome.
