The Mighty Deks pulled off a disciplined heist on the road, edging out Limitless 4-3 in a game where they were largely pinned in their own zone. Limitless dictated the tempo from the jump, nearly doubling the Deks in time on attack (10:35 to 5:51) and peppering the net with 25 shots. However, the turning point was the clinical efficiency of the Deks’ counter-attack. While Limitless struggled to capitalize on sustained pressure, the Mighty Deks made their limited looks count, scoring on nearly 40% of their total shots to quiet the home side's relentless offensive cycle.
The individual performances in this contest were a study in quality over quantity. BAR D0WN 43 and Chandler4911 were the catalysts for the Deks, both finishing with 3 points. Chandler4911 ultimately secured the win with the game-sealing goal, while BAR D0WN 43 showed great touch with 2 goals on just 4 shots. On the other end, TrashDav did everything possible to keep Limitless in it, tallying 1 goal and 2 assists, but his efforts were frustrated by ZienoYT. ZienoYT was the undisputed backbone for the Deks, turning aside 22 of 25 shots for a .880 save percentage, including several critical stops during 5-on-5 play where Limitless appeared poised to pull away.
Ultimately, the deciding factors were goaltending and high-danger shot conversion. Limitless controlled the puck for over 10 minutes and generated 25 shots, but they lacked the finishing touch to beat a locked-in ZienoYT. In contrast, the Mighty Deks were incredibly opportunistic, needing only 11 shots to find the back of the net 4 times. Both teams kept the game remarkably clean with zero power play goals surrendered, leaving the result to be settled by basic puck management and finishing. Limitless might have won the statistical battle on the heat map, but the Mighty Deks won the battle that mattered by capitalizing on the few mistakes Limitless made in transition.
