RECAP

Evil Nature edged out The Strawberrys in a 5-4 overtime thriller that saw both teams trade heavy blows throughout regulation. The Strawberrys hung tough despite being outshot 19-11, even capitalizing on a power play to keep the score tight. However, the game reached its breaking point in the extra frame when Evil Nature’s relentless offensive pressure finally wore down the opposition. The turning point came late in regulation when LarkSr used his physical presence, tallying 9 hits, to disrupt The Strawberrys' breakout, eventually setting the stage for his game-winning goal in overtime. The score sheet was headlined by some massive individual efforts. On the winning side, Mr LWSP was a force in the offensive zone, recording a hat trick on 9 shots and utilizing his 2 deflections to baffle the goalie. He was supported by LarkSr, who notched 2 goals and an assist, and K33P x 27, who dominated the faceoff dot with a 75% win rate (15 for 20) and 3 assists. The Strawberrys stayed in the fight thanks to oSplxshin, who was incredibly efficient, converting both of his shots on net for 2 goals and adding 2 assists for a 4-point night. Teoskiii also provided a spark with a goal and 2 helpers, but it wasn't quite enough to overcome the shot volume they faced. The deciding factor in this contest was Evil Nature's control of the transition game and their dominance at the dot. Winning 15 of 21 faceoffs allowed Evil Nature to dictate the pace and maintain 591 seconds of time on attack compared to 473 for The Strawberrys. While The Strawberrys were more clinical with their limited chances, Evil Nature’s ability to generate nearly double the shot attempts and sustain pressure in the offensive zone eventually broke the deadlock. Despite Philliesgreat08 struggling slightly in net with a .667 save percentage, his team’s ability to limit the total rubber he saw proved to be the safety net Evil Nature needed to secure the win.
