RECAP

The Harfangs managed to edge out a 5-4 victory over Limitless in a contest where efficiency trumped volume. Despite Limitless controlling the pace for large stretches of the game—holding a significant 8:51 to 7:00 advantage in time on attack—the Harfangs proved more lethal with their limited opportunities. The game remained a tight, back-and-forth affair until the Harfangs capitalized on their special teams opportunities to create the necessary cushion. Limitless pushed late, outshooting the Harfangs 15-13, but they couldn't find the equalizer before the final horn. The Harfangs' offense was powered by an incredible display of chemistry between xbrindy and Duchesne_x_10. xbrindy was the primary finisher, recording a hat trick and adding 2 assists for a 5-point night, while also leading the physical charge with 11 hits. Duchesne_x_10 acted as the ultimate facilitator, racking up 5 assists and matching the 11 hits to keep the Limitless defense under constant pressure. On the other side, Bumpy x l6l did everything possible to keep Limitless in the hunt, factoring into every goal for his team with 2 goals and 2 assists. In the crease, Hobo 0n Welfare stood tall when it mattered most, stopping 11 of 15 shots to preserve the narrow lead. Ultimately, the game was decided by discipline and power play execution. The Harfangs were clinical with the man advantage, going 2-for-3 on the power play, while Limitless failed to capitalize on their own opportunities. While Limitless won the possession battle and generated more shots, their 6 minutes in penalties proved to be their undoing. Jeeves2009 played a vital role in this aspect, drawing a penalty and scoring a power play goal of his own. By converting on 38% of their total shots, the Harfangs demonstrated that quality of chances often outweighs quantity in high-stakes EASHL matchups.
