RECAP

The Harfangs secured a chaotic 6-4 victory over Limitless in a game defined by clinical finishing rather than sustained pressure. Despite Limitless controlling the pace for the majority of the night—nearly doubling the Harfangs in time on attack (9:57 to 5:02)—they couldn't find an answer for the Harfangs' quick-strike offense. The turning point came in the middle frame, where the Harfangs began a sequence of high-percentage looks that exploited gaps in the Limitless transition defense. Every time Limitless seemed poised to pull away with their possession game, the Harfangs responded with a counter-attack that silenced the momentum. The individual story of the night was xbrindy, who put on a finishing clinic for the Harfangs. Scoring 4 goals and adding an assist, xbrindy was lethal with limited opportunities, converting on 4 of his 6 total shots while also leading the game with a staggering 14 hits. He was supported brilliantly by Duchesne_x_10, who facilitated the offense with 4 assists. On the Limitless side, yrykerr and mistertwox2 did their best to keep pace, both recording 4 points, but they were ultimately let down by a defensive structure that surrendered 6 goals on just 14 shots against. The deciding factor in this contest was pure efficiency versus volume. Limitless played a "keep-away" style of hockey, evidenced by their 597 seconds of puck control and a 19 to 14 shot advantage, but they struggled to beat Hobo 0n Welfare, who made 15 saves to keep the Harfangs in the lead. Conversely, the Harfangs made every possession count; they were perfect on their limited glances and didn't need sustained zone time to do damage. Washedbob had a night to forget in the Limitless crease, finishing with a .571 save percentage, which simply isn't enough when the opposing wingers are firing with the accuracy shown by xbrindy and the Harfangs.
