SERIES RECAP

Half Shell Cartel takes the series 2-1 over Metal Can Muppets in a matchup that featured wild swings in momentum. The Cartel set the tone early with a clinical 3-0 shutout in the opener, but the Muppets responded with an offensive explosion in Game 2 to force a decider. The series culminated in a high-stakes Game 3 that required overtime to settle, where the Half Shell Cartel ultimately secured the 2-1 victory to clinch the series. The offensive story of the series was a tale of two styles. sc2009crosby was the most productive individual on the ice, racking up 7 points (4 goals, 3 assists) across the series, including a massive 6-point performance to keep the Muppets alive in Game 2. Prodigyx8 was equally dangerous, firing 14 shots and contributing 5 points for the Muppets. However, the Half Shell Cartel relied on a more balanced attack led by mashotpa, who recorded 5 points and the series-clinching goal in overtime. Duchesne_x_10 provided the stability HSC needed in the middle, winning 25 faceoffs to help control the pace during the tightest moments of Game 3. The series was ultimately decided by the Half Shell Cartel's ability to win the "ugly" games. While the Metal Can Muppets held the overall advantage in shots (38-30) and time on attack (1189 seconds to 1163), they struggled to find the back of the net in Games 1 and 3. CN65 was massive for the Cartel in the finale, turning aside 17 of 18 shots to survive a heavy Muppets push. By winning the possession battle at the dot and capitalizing on their few chances in overtime, the Cartel proved that efficiency and timely goaltending outweigh raw shot volume.
