SERIES RECAP

Degeneration X completes a 3-0 sweep over the Metal Can Muppets in a series that began as a high-scoring shootout and ended in a total landslide. Game 1 was the closest the Muppets got to a win, dropping a narrow 6-5 contest despite outshooting DX 22-14. Once Degeneration X found their offensive rhythm, the momentum shifted entirely; they followed up with an 8-5 victory in Game 2 before putting on a clinical 11-2 performance in the finale to slam the door on the series. The offensive output from Degeneration X was staggering, led by iFlickUp who racked up 12 goals and 19 points across just 3 games, including an absurd perfect shooting night in Game 2 where he scored 5 goals on 5 shots. He was flanked by bobaloooo_, who acted as the primary engine for the cycle and finished with 18 points, including a series-high 12 assists. While the Muppets saw respectable production from Zuuuuuub (10 points) and BIGTJ1299 (9 points), they simply couldn't trade blows with the DX top line. m4ckzz88 also provided a massive possession advantage for the winning side, winning 51 faceoffs across the series to ensure DX dictated the pace. Finishing efficiency and zone control were the ultimate deciders in this matchup. Degeneration X was surgically precise, scoring 25 goals on 57 shots throughout the series, constantly punishing MCM for defensive lapses. While the Muppets had flashes of pressure in the opener, they eventually crumbled under the weight of a massive Time on Attack deficit, trailing by nearly 11 total minutes across the three games. This relentless offensive zone pressure left Magilla72 with little help in the crease, while LYCAN provided enough stability for DX to weather the early MCM surges and cruise to a dominant series victory.
