SERIES RECAP

The Flamingos take the series 2-1 over Not My Game in a matchup defined by elite goaltending and a massive mid-series momentum shift. Not My Game opened the set with a professional 2-0 win in Game 1, using a heavy offensive cycle to stifle the Flamingos' transition game. However, the Flamingos flipped the script in Game 2, grinding out their own 2-0 victory to force a decider. The momentum shifted entirely for the finale, where the Flamingos' offense finally broke through for 4 goals to seal the series and cap off 120 consecutive minutes of shutout hockey. Philliesgreat08 was the backbone of the Flamingos' comeback, posting 2 shutouts and stopping 37 of 39 total shots across the series. JNoQuarterJ led the scoring charge with 5 points, headlined by a dominant hat trick in the clinching Game 3. For Not My Game, Korbo5379 was valiant in net, keeping his team competitive with 46 total saves and a shutout of his own in the opener. DaddyJoeFerg provided a consistent physical spark for NMG, recording 14 hits and winning 26 faceoffs, but the team's offense struggled to find answers once the Flamingos tightened their defensive shell. Puck management and zone control proved to be the deciding factors. While Not My Game looked dangerous early, their possession game eroded as the series progressed, highlighted by 27 turnovers from MoNsTeR I30I. The Flamingos capitalized on these errors by winning the time on attack battle in the final two games, including a lopsided 758 to 520 edge in the finale. Between Dirbykach13’s 63% faceoff success in the deciding game and a disciplined defense that allowed 0 power play opportunities in the final 2 games, the Flamingos effectively suffocated NMG’s ability to mount a comeback.
