SERIES RECAP

This series between Evil Nature and The Strawberrys was the definition of "grit over glass," ending in a 1-1 split across two games that were decided by the slimmest of margins. Evil Nature took the opener 2-1 in a physical defensive masterclass, but The Strawberrys responded in the second leg with a 3-2 victory to pull even. Both games featured a combined shot differential of only 7, showcasing a matchup where every single possession was contested and every mistake was magnified. The series stars were the pivots for their respective squads. Duchesne_x_10 was a force for The Strawberrys, racking up 4 points (3G, 1A) across the two games while maintaining a dominant 68% win rate in the faceoff circle. He was matched blow-for-blow by Evil Nature's Mr LWSP, who served as the offensive catalyst with 2 goals and 2 assists of his own. On the back end, oSplxshin stood out for The Strawberrys, not only in distribution but by netting a crucial shorthanded goal in Game 2 that swung the series momentum. Between the pipes, Philliesgreat08 and Washedbob both posted solid numbers, with Philliesgreat08 finishing the set with 21 saves and a .840 save percentage. Ultimately, the series was decided by a contrast in styles: Evil Nature’s punishing physical game versus The Strawberrys’ special teams efficiency. Evil Nature racked up a staggering 61 hits across two games, led by K33P x 27 (24 hits) and I3rooxy (19 hits), effectively disrupting The Strawberrys' transition game. However, The Strawberrys made their limited chances count by going 2-for-6 on the power play and adding that vital shorthanded marker. While Evil Nature controlled more of the attack time (1093 to 889 seconds TOA), they were hampered by discipline issues and a lack of finishing on their own man-advantage opportunities.
