SERIES RECAP

The Strawberrys secured a 2-1 series victory over Men In Black, showcasing an offensive ceiling that was simply too high to match. The series opened with a 6-3 Strawberrys win that set a physical tone, but momentum swung wildly in Game 2. Despite dominating the puck for over 16 minutes of time on attack, The Strawberrys dropped an 8-7 overtime thriller to Men In Black, who stayed alive on the back of pure shooting efficiency. However, any hopes of an MIB upset were snuffed out in the deciding Game 3, as The Strawberrys re-established their dominance with a crushing 8-1 performance to lock up the series. The Strawberrys' top line produced massive numbers throughout the three-game set. mashotpa was the series standout, racking up 17 points (8 goals, 9 assists), including a 5-goal explosion in the finale. splxshin. was nearly as lethal with 16 points while leading the team’s physical presence with 20 hits across the series. For Men In Black, willisx97 was the primary catalyst, totaling 10 points and netting the clutch Game 2 overtime winner to force the third game. Their center, iiNsAnE x w00dy, also kept them competitive in the circle, winning 46 faceoffs across the series to provide MIB with crucial early-possession looks. Puck possession and defensive disruption ultimately dictated the outcome. Across the series, The Strawberrys held a 1784 to 1552 advantage in time on attack, and while Men In Black stole Game 2 by converting on nearly half of their shots, that level of efficiency wasn't sustainable. The Strawberrys’ defensive pair of Hobo and SupremeBannock combined for 30 hits and 17 interceptions, consistently breaking up MIB's transition game. By the time Game 3 rolled around, the constant pressure from The Strawberrys' cycle game wore down the MIB defense, resulting in a clinical 8-goal outburst that left no doubt about who the better team was.
