SERIES RECAP

Medium Sized Men take the series with a clean 3-0 sweep over That Was Ugly. While the final scorelines suggest a series of high-scoring shootouts (5-4, 7-4, and 7-4), the narrative was one of sustained possession meeting opportunistic counter-attacking. Medium Sized Men set the tone in Game 1 by dominating the zone time 12:47 to 7:42, and although That Was Ugly hung around by capitalizing on nearly every mistake, they could never find the defensive recipe to stop the momentum once the Medium Sized Men’s transition game got rolling in the later games. The series was defined by the overwhelming production of the Medium Sized Men’s forward trio. Peck l87l was the standout performer, totaling 16 points (7 goals, 9 assists) across the 3 games, including 2 separate hat tricks. He was flanked by Sniff Yakk8631, who was a physical and offensive menace with 15 points and a series-high 22 hits. Lup anchored the middle with incredible efficiency, putting up 14 points while winning 58% of his draws to maintain possession. For That Was Ugly, Prodigyx8 did everything power-forwardly possible to keep his team in it, racking up 11 points and 32 hits, while Jeeves2009 provided much of the finishing touch with 6 goals. Ultimately, shooting volume and puck possession decided this series. Medium Sized Men outshot That Was Ugly 64-40 over the 3 games and maintained a significant advantage in time on attack. That Was Ugly stayed competitive through the first two periods of most games by being incredibly clinical—converting 12 goals on just 40 total shots—but the defensive pressure eventually took its toll. PrawnsAndKings faced a heavy workload in net, and while he made 45 saves in total, the constant cycle and physical play from defenders like XLeCx27 (25 hits) and Attree x i33i (18 hits) ensured that That Was Ugly spent too much energy defending and not enough time mounting sustained pressure of their own.
