RECAP

Men In Black secured a narrow 3–2 victory over the Baboons in a contest that was defined by efficiency over sustained pressure. While the Baboons actually controlled the flow of the game for long stretches, leading the time on attack 8:41 to 8:11, they struggled to translate that possession into high-quality scoring chances. The game remained a tight, back-and-forth affair until the closing stages, with neither side able to pull away by more than a single goal. The offensive engine for Men In Black was iiNsAnE x w00dy, who found the back of the net twice on 5 shots, including a critical power-play marker. He was supported by TVK, who proved to be the most impactful skater on the ice, netting the game-winning goal and adding an assist while recording 7 hits. The Baboons relied heavily on the duo of Buckley0306 and Hergy9, who factored into both of their team's goals with a goal and an assist each. In the crease, Imdomleegoat260 did everything he could to keep the Baboons in it, stopping 12 of 15 shots for an .800 save percentage, but the lack of run support ultimately cost them. The deciding factor in this matchup was special teams and defensive disruption. Men In Black were clinical in their limited opportunities, going 1-for-1 on the power play, while the Baboons failed to convert on their own man-advantage. Defensively, EricHMusic was a standout for MIB, recording 7 takeaways and a 100 defensive rating, effectively killing several Baboons' cycles before they could reach the slot. This defensive tenacity limited the Baboons to just 8 shots on goal for the entire game, proving that while the Baboons could hold the puck, they couldn't find the lanes to finish.
