RECAP

Harfangs pulled off a resilient 3-2 overtime victory in a game where they were largely forced to play a bend-but-don't-break style of defense. Area 51 dictated the pace from the opening draw, pinning Harfangs deep in their own end for massive stretches of the game. Despite the heavy pressure and a significant deficit in puck control, Harfangs remained opportunistic, weathering a relentless offensive cycle to force the extra frame where they eventually found the back of the net to seal the win. Duchesne_x_10 was the undisputed engine for the Harfangs, putting together a dominant performance with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists) and the game-winning goal in overtime. He wasn't just a threat on the scoresheet, either; his 14 hits established a physical presence that Area 51 struggled to match. He was fed throughout the night by xbrindy, who notched 3 assists, while Jeeves2009 provided a steadying presence in the middle. On the other side, tugeye92 accounted for the entirety of Area 51’s offense with 2 goals on 5 shots, but it wasn't quite enough to overcome a stellar night from Philliesgreat08, who made 19 saves on 21 shots for a .905 save percentage. The deciding factor in this one was pure efficiency versus volume. Area 51 held a staggering 929 to 384 advantage in time on attack—nearly tripling Harfangs’ possession—yet they couldn't turn that zone time into a third goal. Harfangs made their limited chances count, scoring 3 times on only 12 shots. A huge part of their survival was Jeeves2009, who won 19 of 29 faceoffs (65.5%), allowing Harfangs to clear the zone or start transitions during critical moments. Ultimately, Harfangs' ability to win the special teams of the dot and convert on 25% of their shots outweighed Area 51's massive territorial dominance.
