RECAP

The Strawberrys secured a convincing 5-2 victory over The Brand in a game that felt even more lopsided than the final score suggests. From the opening puck drop, the Strawberrys dictated the pace, spending twice as long in the offensive zone as their opponents (10:22 TOA to 5:09). While The Brand tried to stay within striking distance early, the relentless pressure from the Strawberrys' forecheck eventually wore them down. The turning point came as the Strawberrys translated their heavy possession into a barrage of 24 shots, forcing The Brand to defend for the vast majority of the contest. Lleclerc27 was the undisputed engine of the Strawberrys' offense, putting on a clinic with a hat trick and 2 assists for a massive 5-point night. He wasn't just a scoring threat, either, finishing the game with 11 hits to keep The Brand's defenders on their heels. He was flanked by splxshin. and mashotpa, who both notched 3-point performances to round out a dominant top-line effort. For The Brand, Rapierrrr tried to provide a physical spark with a game-high 13 hits and 2 points, but the team struggled to find looks, managing only 10 shots on FatalX87 the entire game. The deciding factor was a massive gap in puck control and efficiency at the dot. splxshin. dominated the faceoff circle, winning 10 of 15 draws (66.7%) to ensure the Strawberrys started almost every sequence with possession. This control allowed them to attempt 144 passes compared to just 89 for The Brand. While mashotpa had a risky night with 22 turnovers, the Strawberrys' defensive pairing of Hobo and SupremeBannock remained steady, combining for a +6 rating and 7 takeaways. The Brand simply couldn't exit their zone cleanly, with every skater on their roster recording at least 5 giveaways in a frustrating defensive outing.
