RECAP

The Strawberrys secured a decisive 5-3 victory over The Brand in a game that was largely defined by a massive discrepancy in puck control. From the opening draw, The Strawberrys dictated the pace, racking up 634 seconds of time on attack compared to just 282 for The Brand. While The Brand managed to stay within striking distance for much of the night by being highly efficient with their limited opportunities, they spent far too much time chasing the play in their own zone to ever truly threaten for the lead. The Strawberrys' offense was firing on all cylinders, led by a massive 5-point performance from mashotpa, who tallied 2 goals and 3 assists. He was flanked by splxshin, who was a force in all three zones, recording 4 points and dominated the faceoff circle with 18 wins on 28 draws. On the other side, The Brand relied on the finishing touch of WhoUsedAlltheTP, who netted 2 goals on just 3 shots, while Rapierrrr played the role of primary playmaker with 3 assists. However, the pressure from The Strawberrys' forecheck took its toll, forcing Rapierrrr into 15 turnovers throughout the evening. The deciding factor in this contest was the overwhelming possession advantage held by The Strawberrys. They outshot The Brand 22-11, keeping RedSkinStallion under constant duress despite his 17-save effort. The Strawberrys also capitalized on the power play, with mashotpa converting 1 of their 2 opportunities, while The Brand’s special teams remained quiet at 0 for 2. Between the lopsided shot differential and a 64% faceoff win rate for splxshin, The Strawberrys simply never allowed The Brand enough oxygen to mount a comeback.
