RECAP

In a tightly contested battle that required extra time, Anarchy edged out the Baboons with a 4-3 overtime victory. The game was defined by a classic clash of styles: Anarchy utilized a relentless puck-possession game, while the Baboons relied on opportunistic counter-attacks and clinical finishing. Despite the Baboons holding a slight lead in total shots (22-21), Anarchy’s ability to sustain pressure finally paid off in the fourth period when Frishmania buried his 2nd goal of the night to secure the win. The offensive load for Anarchy was distributed through a masterclass in playmaking from the back end, as defenseman PunchmadeFinn orchestrated the attack with 4 assists. His vision allowed Frishmania to find the back of the net twice, including the game-winner. On the wings, Hawk x I22I was an absolute menace, tallying 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists) and setting a physical tone with a staggering 15 hits. The Baboons kept it close thanks to the duo of Bills 39 and Therealestbean, who combined for 5 points, while Animal x86 led all players with 8 shots on goal, keeping Anarchy's netminder Washedbob busy throughout the night. The deciding factor in this contest was Anarchy's massive advantage in Time on Attack, logging 12:24 (744 seconds) compared to the Baboons' 8:11 (491 seconds). This discrepancy in possession was largely fueled by a turnover epidemic for the Baboons; Bills 39 and Animal x86 combined for 30 turnovers, which prevented their team from building any sustained momentum. While the Baboons were perfect on their lone power play, they simply couldn't overcome the constant defensive zone pressure, as Anarchy's cycle game eventually wore them down to find the clinical opening in overtime.
