RECAP

Anarchy put on a clinic in puck pursuit and offensive zone pressure, skating away with a commanding 5-1 victory over the Baboons. From the opening draw, the game felt tilted, as Anarchy racked up a massive 735 seconds of time on attack while limiting the Baboons to just 2 shots the entire game. The turning point was a relentless second-period surge where Anarchy’s cycle game proved too much to handle, effectively trapping the Baboons in their own end for minutes at a time. While the Baboons managed to find the back of the net once via Bills 39, they spent the majority of the night chasing the play and struggling to clear their zone. The night belonged to sniffyakk, who was the engine of the Anarchy offense with a 5-point performance. He netted a hat trick and added 2 assists, finishing with a perfect 100 offensive rating. He wasn't alone in the onslaught, as Hawk x I22I provided the muscle and the secondary scoring, recording 1 goal, 1 assist, and a game-high 12 hits. On the blue line, PunchmadeFinn and MoNsTeR I30I were clinical in their distribution, combining for 3 assists and ensuring that the Baboons' transition game never got off the ground. Despite the score, Baboons goaltender Imdomleegoat260 deserves credit for keeping the game from reaching double digits, turning aside 18 of 23 shots under a constant barrage. The deciding factor in this contest was the staggering gap in puck possession and shot volume. Anarchy’s 23-2 shot advantage and 11-7 faceoff edge allowed them to dictate the tempo from start to finish. Their ability to force turnovers was also key, as they pressured the Baboons into high-risk plays that resulted in 10 giveaways for Bills 39 and 9 for roboubi. Anarchy’s special teams also chipped in with a power play goal, but it was their suffocating 5-on-5 play and ability to win 61% of the draws that ultimately buried the Baboons.
