RECAP

The Flamingos escaped with a 5-4 overtime victory against VooDoo Child in a game defined by heavy possession and a clinical finishing rate. Despite only recording 11 shots on goal, the Flamingos controlled the pace for the majority of the evening, logging over 10 minutes of time on attack compared to just under 7 minutes for VooDoo Child. The game was a seesaw battle that saw VooDoo Child capitalize on their limited opportunities, including a crucial power-play marker, to force the extra frame. The deadlock was finally broken in overtime when defenseman Attree x i33i found the back of the net, marking his only shot of the game as the biggest one of the night. The offensive production was led by a pair of 4-point performances from the opposing centers. Chandler4911 was the engine for the Flamingos, carving up the defense to collect 4 assists, while TwO AcCuRaTE matched that output for VooDoo Child with 2 goals and 2 assists. The Flamingos also benefited from a massive physical performance by l Volcom x 28 l, who notched 2 goals and an assist while racking up a staggering 14 hits to keep the VooDoo Child attackers off balance. On the blue line, EARLSWTSHlRT was a disruptive force for the Flamingos, tallying 3 assists and a game-high 7 takeaways to help fuel their transition game. Ultimately, the Flamingos' ability to monopolize the puck proved to be the deciding factor. Their massive 619 to 413 advantage in time on attack allowed them to wear down the VooDoo Child defense, even though goalie hugeexpl managed to keep his team in it with some timely saves despite a .545 save percentage. While VooDoo Child was highly efficient on their 12 shots, the Flamingos’ defensive stick-work—highlighted by a collective effort in takeaways—prevented VooDoo from sustaining enough pressure to overcome the Flamingos' relentless offensive cycle.
