RECAP

The Flamingos walked away with a 6-2 victory over The Brand in a game that was much closer on the stat sheet than the scoreboard suggests. While The Brand actually led in time on attack with 561 seconds to the Flamingos' 525, they struggled to turn that sustained possession into high-quality looks. The narrative of the game was defined by clinical finishing; every time The Brand seemed to find a rhythm, the Flamingos would strike on the counter-attack, effectively neutralizing a heavy forecheck with quick-strike offense. The offensive output for the Flamingos was headlined by l Volcom x 28 l, who put on a finishing clinic by netting 4 goals on just 5 shots. He was supported by the elite playmaking of Saucyfozy, whose vision was the engine of the transition game as he racked up 5 assists. On the back end, Gyneman was a massive dual-threat from the point, contributing 2 goals and 2 assists for a 4-point night. The Brand saw a gritty performance from Rapierrrr, who dominated the physical side of the puck with 15 hits and a 67% faceoff win rate, but his single goal wasn't enough to spark a comeback. The deciding factor in this one was pure shooting efficiency. The Flamingos were incredibly opportunistic, scoring 6 times on only 15 shots, while The Brand found it difficult to beat SargeNPrawns, who turned aside 10 of 12 shots for a solid .833 save percentage. Despite The Brand winning the battle at the dots (12 faceoff wins to 6) and controlling the puck for longer stretches, they couldn't bridge the gap in goaltending performance, where RedSkinStallion struggled with a .600 save percentage against the Flamingos' high-danger looks.
