RECAP

VooDoo Child secured a 4-2 victory over the Baboons in a matchup that was defined by high-end finishing and a razor-thin margin for error. Despite the Baboons controlling the faceoff circle and holding a slight edge in shots (16-15), VooDoo Child proved to be the more clinical side. The game was a stalemate for large stretches, with both teams hovering around 7 minutes of time on attack, but the turning point was VooDoo Child’s ability to capitalize on transition opportunities and punish defensive lapses before the Baboons could set up their structure. The night belonged to the duo of Hylightt and Dupont l9l, who factored into every goal for the winning side. Hylightt was an absolute force, netting a hat trick and adding an assist while setting a physical tone with 10 hits. Dupont l9l acted as the primary playmaker, matching his teammate's 4-point production with 1 goal and 3 assists. On the other side, Hergy9 was the standout for the Baboons, putting up 1 goal and 1 assist while dominating the dot with 13 faceoff wins on a 72% success rate. However, the Baboons' offense struggled to find a second gear against hugeexpl, who remained steady in net with 14 saves and a .875 save percentage. The deciding factor in this contest was pure efficiency over volume. While the Baboons attempted significantly more passes (123 to 80), they struggled to turn that possession into high-danger chances. VooDoo Child’s top line was lethal, with Hylightt converting on 50% of his shots, effectively neutralizing the Baboons' massive advantage in the faceoff circle. The goaltending gap also proved pivotal; while the shot counts were nearly identical, VooDoo Child’s ability to limit the Baboons to just 2 goals on 16 shots allowed them to pull away in a game where every possession felt heavy.
