RECAP

The Sea Cows secured a hard-fought 4-2 victory over the Mighty Deks in a game defined by territorial dominance and physical play. While the shot count remained close at 17-15 favor of the home side, the Sea Cows controlled the shot quality and pace for the majority of the night. The turning point came from the blue line, where Byram I4l pinched at the perfect moment to bury what would eventually stand as the game-winning goal. Despite a late push from the Deks, the Sea Cows utilized their significant time on attack advantage (10:28 to 7:30) to bleed out the clock and prevent a comeback. The offensive engine for the Sea Cows was mashotpa., who played the role of primary playmaker by racking up 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists). His vision allowed for clean entries and facilitated a 3-point night for Wizzywar, as the two wingers effectively dismantled the Deks' zone defense. On the back end, See dub 21 was a human wrecking ball, recording a massive 15 hits to keep the Mighty Deks from establishing any rhythm in the slot. For the Deks, hugeexpl tried his best to keep them in it with a goal and an assist, but the offense struggled to find consistent looks against ZienoYT, who stood tall with 13 saves on 15 shots. Ultimately, the game was decided by the Sea Cows' ability to maintain possession and their relentless physical pressure. By out-hitting the Mighty Deks 24-13 and sustaining nearly 3 extra minutes of zone time, the Sea Cows forced their opponents into a defensive shell. This pressure prevented the Deks from generating any meaningful power play opportunities, as zero goals were scored on the man advantage for either side. The disparity in time on attack and the Sea Cows' ability to convert on their chances despite a low-shot volume proved to be the winning formula.
