RECAP

The Mighty Deks narrowly escaped with a 6-5 victory over Gangsters Hockey Club in a high-scoring affair that featured relentless offensive pressure from both sides. While the shot counts were nearly identical at 17-16 in favor of the Gangsters, the Deks controlled the tempo for the majority of the evening. The narrative of this game was defined by the Deks' ability to convert on their limited chances while maintaining a massive advantage in possession, though they nearly let it slip away late as the Gangsters' counter-attack proved incredibly lethal. Individual brilliance took center stage as both teams relied on their primary snipers. Chandler4911 was the catalyst for the Mighty Deks, recording a hat trick and adding 2 assists for a 5-point night on just 5 shots. He was supported heavily by BAR D0WN 43, who notched 2 goals and a 77% teamplay rating, and the playmaking of twoaccurate, who orchestrated the transition game with 4 assists from the blue line. On the other side, Dylan-_-Carr94 nearly willed his team to a comeback victory by scoring 4 of his team’s 5 goals, proving to be an absolute nightmare for RedSkinStallion throughout the evening. Ultimately, possession and discipline were the deciding factors. The Mighty Deks dominated the clock with 11:23 of time on attack compared to just 8:09 for the Gangsters, forcing their opponents to defend for long stretches. This sustained pressure eventually forced the game's only penalty, which the Deks promptly converted into a critical power-play goal. While the Gangsters kept the game competitive through Peck l87 l’s 4 assists and physical play (7 hits), the Deks' superior puck control and efficient special teams play provided the narrow margin needed to secure the win.
