Despite being heavily out-possessed and doubled in shots, the Troopers displayed a clinical level of finishing that the Roughnecks simply couldn't match. The game shifted permanently in the Troopers' favor through quick-strike transitions; while the Roughnecks spent long cycles in the offensive zone, the Troopers waited for defensive lapses and struck with high-percentage looks. The turning point was ultimately the Troopers' ability to withstand a late-game barrage, holding onto a one-goal lead as the clock ticked down.
