RECAP

The Harfangs managed to edge out the Reggaeton Roughnecks in a 6-5 thriller that prioritized offensive execution over defensive structure. While the Roughnecks actually controlled the flow of the game for long stretches—holding a significant possession advantage with 9:32 (572 seconds) in the offensive zone compared to the Harfangs’ 8:25 (505 seconds)—they couldn't withstand the Harfangs' ability to capitalize on limited looks. The game remained a back-and-forth affair until the final minutes, with Jeeves2009 eventually netting the game-winning goal to seal the result in a contest where neither goaltender found much rhythm. The game featured two high-powered offensive lines trade matching haymakers. For the Roughnecks, Kosh 14 was a force, recording a hat trick and adding 2 assists for a 5-point night, while I BARD 15 I chipped in with 4 points of his own. However, the Harfangs countered with a more balanced attack spearheaded by Jeeves2009. The Harfangs center was the best player on the ice, factored into every single goal his team scored with 2 goals and 4 assists. He was flanked by Duchesne_x_10 and xbrindy, who both finished with 2 goals and 3 assists, creating a nightmare matchup for the Roughnecks' blue line. Ultimately, the deciding factor was clinical finishing and a slight edge in special teams. Despite the Roughnecks’ superior time on attack, they only managed 12 shots on goal, suggesting they may have been looking for the perfect play rather than testing Loxies frequently. Conversely, the Harfangs were much more efficient, turning 18 shots into 6 goals. The Harfangs' power play also proved vital, going 1-for-1 on their only opportunity, which provided the slim margin of victory in a game where the Roughnecks failed to earn a single man-advantage. That discipline from the Harfangs defensively, combined with a .667 team shooting percentage, turned the tide in their favor.
