Smoke HC walked away with a narrow 6-5 victory in a high-scoring thriller that saw both offenses trading blows until the final whistle. Medium Sized Men actually dictated much of the game’s pace, controlling the puck for 9:16 of time on attack compared to just 7:08 for Smoke HC. However, the game turned on Smoke HC’s ability to convert quickly on the counter-attack and capitalize on their limited chances. Despite trailing in possession for long stretches, Frishmania’s game-winning goal proved to be the difference-maker in a back-and-forth affair where defensive lapses cost both sides dearly.
Smoke HC’s offense was essentially a two-man wrecking crew. Swizz Wrld was nearly unstoppable, finding the back of the net 4 times on just 4 shots—including a crucial power-play marker—while adding 11 hits to lead the game in physical presence. His linemate, Frishmania, was equally vital, tallying 2 goals and 2 assists for a 4-point night that culminated in the game-winner.
